Board of Directors: Expression of Interest

Expressions of Interest to join the WTC Board of Directors

WTC elects new board directors at our AGM each November. We give preference to individuals who have volunteered with WTC for at least 3 months, which allows you time to get to know the organization, our values, the way we work, and our ongoing programs. If you are interested in joining the board, please sign up as a member and complete the following EOI.

Responsibilities of Directors include:

  • Attending 6-8 board meetings per year, on a Monday evening

  • Participating in the annual strategic planning process

  • Participating in fundraising for the organization

  • Serving as a representative of WTC and positively advocating for the organization in the community

  • Volunteering for and willingly accept assignments as appropriate and complete them thoroughly and on time

  • Staying informed about organizational matters, preparing for meetings, and reviewing and commenting on minutes and reports

  • Building a good working relationship with all board members that contribute to consensus

  • Committing to the board for a minimum of two years, and contributing 2-3 hours a week or 10-12 hours a month

The work of WTC in Vancouver takes place on the stolen ancestral territories of the xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge the leadership of Indigenous peoples since time immemorial and seek to learn and unlearn our own colonial practices as we work in cities as sites of resistance.
